How long do I have to make a military hearing claim?
For most cases, you have 3 years from when you became aware of your hearing damage and its link to service. However, there are exceptions, and late claims can sometimes be accepted. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Can I claim if I left the military decades ago?
Yes. Many veterans only realize they have hearing damage years after leaving service. We regularly help veterans who served in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Will my claim affect my military pension?
No. A civil compensation claim is separate from any Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) award or War Pension you may receive. You can pursue both.
What if I was issued hearing protection?
You may still have a claim. If protection was inadequate, you weren't properly trained to use it, or it wasn't enforced, the MOD may still be liable.
Do I need my service medical records?
We can help you obtain your service records from the MOD. These aren't always necessary, but they can strengthen your claim.
Can I claim for both tinnitus and hearing loss?
